Biography

Richard S. Murad is a Houston native and grew up in Fort Bend County.  He served five years in the United States Marine Corps—first as a ground radio repairman in Southern California and then guarding our nation’s embassies in Oslo, Norway and Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

Richard has undergraduate degrees in History and in Russian Studies from the University of Houston; a Master’s Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government & Public Service, and a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law.  Before transitioning to a career in law, Richard spent almost five years in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan working in support of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s international nuclear non-proliferation and border security programs.  If necessary, Richard can still communicate in spoken and written Russian.

In law, Richard has state agency experience and legislative experience—he was an intern in the Legal Division of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and he worked as legislative director for a West Texas state representative during the 85th legislative session.  Richard’s formative years in law practice were forged in Levelland, Texas, where he worked at a small law firm and title company practicing in areas ranging from criminal law, real estate, probate, trust and estate planning, administrative law, and general civil litigation.  Richard returned to Houston in summer 2018 and has been with Hensley & Krueger since that time—he devotes most of his practice to probate and estate planning and real estate and commercial transactions.
